DAVID KWAKU AZALU is a self-taught contemporary and classical orchestral and film music composer, songwriter, singer, instrumentalist, and producer. As a multi-talented passionate and selfâmotivated creative Arts professional, having garnned more than 20 years experience in the music, film, and entertainment industry, AZALU has worked with the ACCRA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA as music composer/arranger and production coordinator, having previously worked with MULTIMEDIA LIMITED in production capacity and as a music Teacher at other places, the most current of which is the IB ARTHUR SCHOOL, a Cambridge school where he is currently the head of music department. AZALU is also currently the CEO of his arts education school, TRAMMEDIA COLLEGE OF ARTS-TRACOA (Tracoagh.com) His vision is to teach, write and compose extraordinary contemporary, film and classical music and literature that transcends all generations and continents; music and literature that most people can relate to. He also seeks to use his music as a tool for emphasizing and re-emphasizing the need for and importance of self-gift discovery for success and poverty eradication in Africa and the world at large and as a tool to heal and give hope to the hopeless, inspire people especially young adult to strive to achieve their dreams and make a difference in their generation. In consideration of everything, AZALU loves to teach music theory because a lot of people can play but lose sight of that aspect of music and so he considers music theory as his area of specialty together with the teaching of the tuba and a bit of piano (beginner serries) AZALU has written over 40 personal contemporal songs, over 25 film theme music and 10 mainstream classical orchestral compositions yet to be released. Currently holding only an ABRSM GRADE 5 music theory certificate with a merit pass, AZALU is also currently a level 200 B.Ed. music education student at Valley View University in Ghana. Some of his achievements are performing as a tuba player in the abridged version of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera RIGOLETTO at the ACCRA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA’s 2018 ‘ACCRA GOES TO THE OPERA’ program and performing again as a tuba player at the 2019 ICGC GREATER WORKS program sharing same stage with Nathaniel Bassey, Ntokozo, Joe Mettle etc. He was also able to single-handedly, within 2 years, gotten the learners of IB ARTHUR SCHOOL to perform (play and sing) on their own during big school programs without the assistant of he or his other departmental colleagues. AZALU is most passionate about poverty eradication in Africa and the world at large through human resource discovery and development and so most of his works are either God-centered or talk about social issues. He is involved in a number of humanitarian agendas through motivational speaking especially to teenagers and young adults and free arts educational programs he does in communities through his TRAMMEDIA COLLEGE OF ARTS-TRACOA, an Arts education School. AZALU is currently working on releasing a few contemporary and classical orchestral singles and albums starting with “YABA”, an Afro-Chant song calling out Africans and blacks in the diaspora to come back home to help develop the African continent. Other projects he is working on are a 3-in-1 TV series titled The Classical Score; a musical educational program, two operas; WHAT IS WRONG WITH AFRICA and ATANI, all to be produced and staged in the not-too-distant future. AZALU’s most important philosophy in life is not to follow the crowd and so he finds it difficult following rules, especially musical or artistic conventional rules because he believes in being free to write, compose express whatever one is inspired to write and not be limited by rules to the detriment of creativity. As such, most of his artistic works are very different from the normal or what is on the market as he is always looking for ways to create something new, something extraordinary and be the pace setter. AZALU’s most competitive key personal skills set, and obvious attributes are: Sound design/Film scoring/theme music creation His favorite slagline or catchphrase is “Everything is difficult, but nothing is difficult if and only if….” “One sets his mind to it” as he is a strong believer in being CONSISTENT AND PERSISITENT |
